Job summary

Northern Land Council in Darwin seeks a Coordinator Benefits Distribution Consultation and Administration to lead a team delivering consultation and administration services for the Benefits Distribution function, working with Traditional Owners and stakeholders to support informed decision-making while upholding integrity and cultural respect.

The role combines people leadership, stakeholder engagement and operational management, requiring mentoring, coordinating complex activities and providing

Qualifications

• Degree level qualification in Business or relevant field and/or equivalent work experience covering consultation, negotiation, mediation and operational logistics.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ practical experience in coordination, administration, or stakeholder engagement.
• Knowledge of Aboriginal land and sea management legislation including the Aboriginal Land Rights Act (NT) 1976 and Native Title Act 1993.
• Demonstrated high-level cross-cultural, interpersonal and verbal communication skills and ability to liaise with colleagues, constituents and stakeholders.
• Experience in supervising or mentoring staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and operational oversight to a team delivering consultation and administration services across the Benefits Distribution function.
• Ensure effective consultation processes support Traditional Owners in informed decision-making and transparent distribution activities.
• Build strong relationships with Traditional Owners, community representatives and internal stakeholders to drive outcomes and continuous improvement.
• Mentor and support staff and coordinate complex activities while providing expert advice to ensure consistent service delivery.
