NEPEAN Belting in Mackay, QLD, is seeking experienced Belt Splicers for permanent roles with a great 4/3 roster. Based from Paget, you’ll service both workshop and mine site environments, delivering belt splicing, maintenance and repairs.

Candidates with Level 3 Belt Splicer qualifications and underground mining experience are preferred. Relocation assistance and ongoing development opportunities are available to the right people.

Qualifications

• Certificate II in Polymer Processing (Belt Splicing) required.
• Conveyor system and belt maintenance experience.
• Level 3 Belt Splicer qualifications highly regarded.
• Underground coal mining experience preferred.
• Current Driver’s Licence, MR preferred.
• Working at Heights ticket desirable.
• Supervisory experience advantageous.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Conveyor belt splicing, repairs and maintenance.
• Belt and conveyor system inspections.
• Planned and breakdown maintenance.
• Work across workshop and mine site environments.
• Completing job and site documentation.
• Maintaining high safety and workmanship standards.
• Support apprentices and junior splicers where required.

NEPEAN Belting is continuing to grow in Mackay and we’re looking for experienced Belt Splicers who want to join a strong local team with permanent, long-term opportunities.

We have fantastic 4 days on / 3 days off roster opportunities available, giving you a three‑day break every week, as well as town‑based permanent opportunities in Mackay, QLD. This is an excellent option for experienced splicers wanting to move away from FIFO or lengthy rosters while still working across mining and heavy industry.

The role

Based from Paget, Mackay, you’ll work across both workshop and mine site environments, delivering conveyor belt splicing, maintenance and repair services.

Your work will include:

• Conveyor belt splicing, repairs and maintenance
• Belt and conveyor system inspections
• Planned and breakdown maintenance
• Working across workshop and mine site environments
• Completing job and site documentation
• Maintaining high safety and workmanship standards
• Supporting apprentices and junior splicers where required

We’re interested in experienced Belt Splicers who can bring:

• Certificate II in Polymer Processing (Belt Splicing) as a minimum
• Conveyor system and belt maintenance experience
• Level 3 Belt Splicer qualifications, highly regarded
• Underground coal mining experience, preferred
• Current Driver’s Licence, MR preferred
• Working at Heights ticket, desirable
• Supervisory experience, advantageous
• A strong commitment to safety and quality
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
