Job summary

ContiTech Australia in Mackay is seeking a Belt Splicing Supervisor to lead a team on conveyor belting projects across QLD. Based in Mackay, you will supervise belt splicing, repairs, maintenance and installations, ensure safety and quality, and coordinate with project teams on major belt replacements.

The ideal candidate has Belt Splicing or Mechanical Technician experience, valid licenses, and a strong commitment to safety; a Polymer Processing certificate is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience as Belt Splicing or Mechanical Technician on conveyor systems.
• Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices.
• Ability to supervise and coordinate on-site teams for splicing and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision to the team involved in Belt Splicing, repairs, maintenance and installations.
• Identify belt damage and determine repair method.
• Oversee shutdowns and belt changes.
• Lead major belt flake and replacement projects on transport belts.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

With multiple projects across QLD and NT for you to be involved with, you'll be responsible for providing supervision to the team involved in:

• Belt Splicing, repairs, maintenance and installations of fabric and steel cord conveyor belts.
• Identification of belt damage, faults and determine method of repair.
• Shutdowns and belt change outs.
• Major Project belt flake and replacements.

We also provide opportunities to be involved in Leading our Teams on Global and Interstate Projects.

ABOUT YOU:

We're looking for positive, energetic team players who possess previous experience in a Belt Splicing or Mechanical Technician on conveyor systems or a willingness to learn with mechanical aptitude; and

• an absolute commitment to safety and safe work practices,
• valid Drivers License,
• Confined Space and Working at Heights training,
• current EWP, Dogging and Rigging Licenses,
• ability to fulfill the inherent physical tasks required of this job - which will include repetitive lifting of weights up to 25kgs and working in hot climates.

Whilst not essential, we would look favourably upon applicants who have a Certificate II or III in Polymer Processing.
