Job summary

The Humanity Health Group in Sydney, NSW, is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Practitioner/ Psychotherapist to join our team in a permanent full-time role. Qualifications

• A degree in psychology or social work.
• Postgraduate qualifications in psychotherapy or behaviour support are highly desirable.
• 3–5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in health/mental health settings.
• Demonstrated knowledge of behaviour management strategies and therapeutic techniques.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with clients and families.
• Proficiency in assessment and evaluation methods.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Current registration with a relevant professional body (AHPRA, PACFA) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify clients' behavioural and emotional needs.
• Develop and implement individualised behaviour support plans in collaboration with clients and families.
• Provide therapeutic interventions, including counselling and psychotherapy, to support clients in achieving their goals.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of behaviour support strategies, making adjustments as necessary.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals and educators, to ensure holistic support for clients.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records in accordance with organisational policies and legal requirements.
• Provide training and support to families and caregivers on behaviour management techniques.
• Stay updated with the latest research and best practices in behaviour support and psychotherapy.
