Job summary

Aruma is hiring a Behaviour Support Practitioner to develop and implement positive behaviour support plans for people with disabilities in Goulburn, NSW. The role involves collaborating with individuals, families and a multidisciplinary team to create meaningful, inclusive outcomes that promote independence and dignity.

The successful candidate will manage a pre-established caseload and contribute to person-centred support in a permanent, full-time capacity in Goulburn.

Qualifications

• Background in psychology, social work, or a related field.
• Familiar with positive behaviour support frameworks and practices.
• Ability to work with individuals with complex behaviours and stay calm in challenging situations.
• A self-assessment form or completed practitioner declaration showing transferable skills could be provided.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver evidence-based behaviour support plans tailored to individuals with disabilities.
• Collaborate with individuals, families, carers and professionals to ensure holistic, person-centred support.
• Provide training and guidance to support staff to ensure consistent implementation of behaviour support strategies.
• Regularly review and adjust plans based on progress and evolving needs.
• Advocate for the rights of individuals, treat them with respect, kindness, and understanding.
