Job summary

Ability Action Australia is seeking a Behaviour Support Practitioner to support the Gunnedah region. The role welcomes practitioners at all experience and suitability levels, offering a pathway from core to advanced practice and a chance to make a real impact in participants’ independence and wellbeing.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver person-centred plans, drive goals and ensure ethical, non-restrictive practices across the support provided.

Qualifications

• A degree qualification as an allied health professional
• Experience in report writing
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a varied caseload
• Proactive, self-motivated approach, with a drive to improve outcomes
• Genuine passion for working in the disability sector

Responsibilities

• Supporting NDIS participants and families to identify needs through assessment and person-centred planning
• Owning assessment, development and delivery of evidence-based support plans
• Driving meaningful goals and measurable outcomes using a positive behaviour support framework
• Ensuring plans align with each participant’s goals, strengths and priorities
• Building capability and confidence of those supporting participants in day-to-day life
• Collaborating within a multidisciplinary team environment
