Job summary

Aruma is seeking a Behaviour Support Practitioner to develop and implement positive behaviour support plans for people with disabilities across Queensland. You will collaborate with individuals, families, and a multidisciplinary team to create meaningful outcomes that promote independence, inclusion and dignity.

You’ll travel to Aruma sites for face-to-face team meetings every six weeks at Burleigh, Loganholme and Windsor.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Behaviour Support Practitioner with the NDIS Commission.
• Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Behavioural Science, Counselling, Special Education, or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements and Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver evidence-based behaviour support plans tailored to individuals with disabilities.
• Collaborate with individuals, families, carers and other professionals to ensure holistic, person-centred support.
• Provide training and guidance to support staff to ensure consistency in implementing behaviour support strategies.
• Regularly review and adjust plans based on progress and evolving needs.
• Advocate for the rights of individuals, ensuring they are treated with respect and dignity.
