Job summary

Ability Action Australia’s Nowra team seeks a Behaviour Support Practitioner to support NDIS participants and their families. You will assess needs, develop and deliver evidence-based plans within a complex care environment and work within a multidisciplinary team to achieve meaningful outcomes.

You will offer family and carer engagement, manage a varied caseload and receive weekly supervision, mentoring from senior clinicians, and opportunities for professional development across Ability Action

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in an allied health profession.
  • Experience writing reports for participants or clients.
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to manage a varied caseload.
  • Proactive, self-motivated approach focused on outcomes.
  • Genuine passion for working in the disability sector.

Responsibilities

  • Support NDIS participants and families to identify needs via assessment and planning.
  • Lead assessment, development and delivery of evidence-based support plans.
  • Drive meaningful goals using a positive behaviour support framework and reduce restrictive practices.
  • Ensure plans reflect participants' goals, strengths and priorities.
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team and mentor less experienced staff.

#AAA Nowra team is seeking a Behaviour Support Practitioner of all experience and suitability levels. In this role you will:

  • Supporting NDIS participants, along with their families and carers, to identify their needs through assessment and person-centred planning
  • Owning the assessment, development and delivery of evidence-based support plans within a complex support environment
  • Driving meaningful goals and measurable outcomes, using a positive behaviour support framework and a commitment to eliminating restrictive practices
  • Ensuring plans reflect each participant’s goals, strengths and what matters most to them
  • Building the capability, confidence and understanding of those supporting participants in their day-to-day lives
  • Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including mentoring less experienced practitioners
Qualifications
  • A degree qualification as an allied health professional
