Job summary

Ability Action Australia is seeking a Behaviour Support Practitioner in Inner South Canberra with current suitability at Core, Proficient, or Advanced level. You will assess and plan with NDIS participants, delivering evidence-based plans within a multidisciplinary setting.

You will collaborate with families, carers and a team to drive meaningful goals and positive outcomes while minimising restrictive practices. Flexible hours available, including part-time or full-time arrangements.

Qualifications

• Evidence of suitability at Core, Proficient, or Advanced level with the NDIS Quality & Safeguarding Commission.
• Experience in report writing, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied caseload.
• A proactive, self-motivated approach, with a drive to improve outcomes and test new ideas.
• A genuine passion for working in the disability sector.

Responsibilities

• Supporting NDIS participants, along with their families and carers, to identify their needs through assessment and person-centred planning.
• Owning the assessment, development and delivery of evidence-based support plans within a complex support environment.
• Driving meaningful goals and measurable outcomes, using a positive behaviour support framework and a commitment to eliminating restrictive practices.
• Ensuring plans reflect each participant’s goals, strengths and what matters most to them.
• Building the capability, confidence and understanding of those supporting participants in their day-to-day lives.
• Working collaboratively within a cohesive multidisciplinary team environment.
