Job summary

Pakenham Secondary College invites applications for a dedicated Teacher - Disability Inclusion/Behaviour analysis and management. The role focuses on observing and analysing student behaviours, developing support plans, and collaborating with staff, families and allied professionals to promote inclusive learning environments.

The successful candidate will work within the Disability Inclusion (DI) team, contribute to FBAs and BSPs, and implement trauma-informed practices across four days a week

Qualifications

• Provisional or full registration approved by the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
• If the person completed a Australian postgraduate level initial teaching program after 1 January 2024, they must demonstrate that it is accredited as satisfying the Standards.
• A person who graduated after 1 July 2016 must have passed the literacy and numeracy test for initial teacher education (LANTITE).

Responsibilities

• Conduct observations to gather objective behaviour data.
• Analyse behaviour patterns and data to identify triggers, functions, and maintaining factors of behaviours.
• Develop Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBAs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) tailored to individual student needs.
• Provide guidance and support to teachers and school staff in understanding the function of behaviour and implementing effective behaviour strategies.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, leadership teams, Student Support Services, and families to create consistent and supportive learning environments.
• Support schools to implement proactive, inclusive, and trauma-informed behaviour support practices.
• Monitor and review behaviour support plans, using data to evaluate effectiveness and recommend adjustments.
• Contribute to Disability Inclusion processes/profiles and documentation as required.
