Job summary

Western NSW Local Health District invites a Staff Specialist/Visiting Medical Officer (Geriatrician) to lead specialist geriatric care at Bathurst Health Service. The role is 0.8FTE with part-time hours and a fee-for-service option, based in Bathurst, NSW.

You will deliver specialist assessments, oversee multidisciplinary care, and mentor staff while contributing to governance and service development within a vibrant regional health district.

Qualifications

• FRACP Fellowship in Geriatric Medicine is required.
• Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
• Experience in geriatric assessment and management of complex older patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist clinical care and leadership for older patients with frailty and comorbidities.
• Lead MDT geriatric services and coordinate comprehensive assessments.
• Involve in discharge planning and care transitions.
• Mentor and educate medical, nursing and allied health staff.
• Drive quality improvement, governance, and service development.
