Job summary

Select Aust Sydney in Townsville is seeking an experienced Front End Loader (FEL) Operator stepping up into a Batcher in Charge role. You’ll lead day-to-day operations, drive batching improvements, and participate in plant leadership pathways with full training provided.

Overtime opportunities are strong and you’ll have a clear path to a permanent role after six months. Expect early shifts starting around 2:00 AM to 5:00 AM as orders dictate, with continuous safety emphasis and collaboration

Qualifications

• Front End Loader (FEL) ticket/VOC with proven operating experience.
• Valid Australian Driver's Licence and Construction White Card.
• Batching experience 6+ months preferred; will train if needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations at Garbutt plant producing concrete per Australian Standards.
• Direct, mentor, and coordinate batchers and agitator drivers while resolving daily issues.
• Manage weekly/monthly stock, COD collections, and safety/maintenance work orders.

We are partnering with a leading Australian concrete manufacturer to recruit a Batcher in Charge . This isn't just an operating job-it is a paid career pathway into concrete batching, plant leadership, and site management. No prior concrete batching experience?

Your Key Responsibilities

As the Batcher in Charge, you will lead day-to-day operations at the Garbutt production plant: Concrete Manufacturing: Produce concrete strictly compliant with Australian Standards and quality systems, monitoring water trim variability and mix designs. Team Direction: Direct, mentor, and coordinate site batchers and agitator drivers while resolving daily operational issues.

Stock & Financial Control: Manage weekly/monthly stock reconciliations, collaborate with Technical Managers, and handle COD collections. HSEQ & Maintenance: Lead site safety (3C hazard reporting), manage contractor safety, and raise plant Work Orders (WOs) for proactive maintenance.

Candidate Requirements Mandatory

Current Front End Loader (FEL) Ticket / VOC with proven operating experience. Mandatory: Valid Australian Driver's Licence & Construction White Card. Experience: Prior batching experience (6+ months) is preferred, but experienced FEL operators with a drive to learn will be fully trained.
