Sofitel Gold Coast Broadbeach is seeking an experienced bartender to deliver premium beverage service in a luxury hotel setting. You will craft cocktails, recommend wines and beers, and ensure guests have a memorable experience.

Requirements include bartending experience in high-volume or luxury venues and Queensland RSA certification. You’ll work a rotating roster, maintain standards, and collaborate with kitchen and floor teams.

Qualifications

• Bartending experience in a hotel, bar or restaurant, preferably luxury or high-volume.
• Current Queensland RSA certification required.
• Solid cocktail, wine and beer knowledge with confident recommendations.
• Speed and accuracy with warmth in a busy service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, mix and serve beverages to standard recipes with correct glassware and garnish.
• Craft signature cocktails and promote seasonal offerings.
• Deliver friendly, professional service aligned with Sofitel standards.
• Take orders, upsell, and present bills securely and accurately.
• Maintain stock levels, control wastage and operate MICROS POS.
• Keep bar and areas clean, restock to stay service-ready, and comply with health and safety laws.
• Collaborate with kitchen, floor and management to ensure smooth service.

Job Description

• Prepare, mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to standard recipes, with correct glassware, garnish and presentation
• Craft signature cocktails with creativity and knowledge of current beverage trends
• Recommend cocktails, wines and beers that enhance the guest experience, and promote seasonal offerings and specials
• Deliver friendly, professional service in line with Sofitel brand standards, anticipating guest needs and handling feedback promptly
• Take orders accurately and promptly, using suggestive selling to maximise sales
• Present bills and process payments securely and accurately
• Maintain stock levels through regular inventory checks, control usage and minimise wastage
• Operate the MICROS POS system and report any discrepancies to Supervisors
• Keep the bar and service areas clean and equipment in good working order, in compliance with health, safety and liquor laws
• Set up and pack down the venue, and restock to stay service-ready throughout the shift
• Work closely with kitchen, floor and management to keep service running smoothly, attending briefings as required

Qualifications

What you will bring to the role:

• Bartending experience in a hotel, bar or restaurant, ideally in a luxury or high-volume venue
• Current Queensland RSA certification
• Solid cocktail, wine and beer knowledge, and the confidence to make a recommendation
• Speed and accuracy through a busy service without losing the warmth
• Strong personal presentation and a luxury attitude — humble excellence, elevated emotional intelligence and distinguished presence
• Openness to feedback and a genuine interest in developing your craft
• Availability across a rotating roster including nights, weekends and public holidays
