Job summary

Axil Coffee Roasters in Melbourne is seeking a friendly barista to join our team. We offer on-the-job training, a supportive operations crew and access to our range of training courses.

As a barista you will greet guests, take orders, operate espresso equipment, keep the bar clean, and manage cash and EFTPOS. Experience with La Marzocco GB5 and Mazzer grinders is preferred; enthusiasm and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in fast-paced hospitality preferred.
• Strong customer engagement and communication.
• Ability to handle cash and EFTPOS accurately.
• Willingness to learn and grow with the team.

Responsibilities

• Greeting guests warmly and taking orders
• Operating the espresso machine, grinder and other café equipment
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar
• Handling cash and EFTPOS transactions accurately
• Ensuring the café remains clean and compliant with food safety regulations
• Contributing to a positive and energetic team environment

We have multiple locations across Victoria, including Melbourne Airport, Chadstone Shopping Centre, Melbourne Central, Richmond and several other locations in the CBD.

About the Candidate

Applicants must have a passion for coffee, good food and warm genuine customer engagement. Support, training and career progression is available for the right candidate.

• Motivation to take ownership of the position
• A key eye for detail
• A customer-centric approach
• Preferred experience using a wide range of coffee making equipment including; La Marzocco GB5, Mazzer Rober S, Mahlkonig E65s GBW, Mahlkonig EK43s and Ubermilk
• A desire to continuously learn, grow and progress within the company
• Be a team player who is happy to jump in and help in other areas of the café as required
