Job summary

Federal Hospitality invites experienced bar and gaming team members to join us at Hotel Valern and Elwick Hotel in Tasmania. You will handle gaming enquiries, prepare and serve beverages, and deliver outstanding customer service.

Candidates should have cash handling proficiency, knowledge of gaming regulations, and RSA/RCG certificates. Night and weekend shifts, plus potential pre-employment screening, are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Proven cash handling proficiency.
• Knowledge of gaming machine regulations, compliance, operations.
• Understanding of food & beverage products and services.
• Professional, mature attitude; ability to work autonomously.
• Current Tasmanian RCG and RSA certificates.
• Keno Writer & Gaming Machine roles; TAB knowledge is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Attend to enquiries from gaming patrons and provide customer service.
• Prepare and dispense beverages for patrons.
• Manage and maintain gaming functions and operations, including TAB functions.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of gaming rooms and respond to patron inquiries and complaints.

About our Southern Vantage Hotels and pubs!

Pour yourself into something great with Vantage Hotel Group, home to community-loved pubs across Tasmania. We are currently looking for experienced bar and gaming team members to join us at Hotel Valern and Elwick Hotel.

Joining Vantage Hotel Group also gives you the opportunity to work across our other southern pubs, including Waterfront Hotel, Claremont Hotel, The Brooker Inn and Derwent Tavern.

What you can expect in a day in this role:

In this role, you will be responsible for attending to enquiries from our gaming patrons, preparing and dispensing beverages, and providing exceptional customer service.

Some of your day-to-day duties will include:

• Managing and maintaining gaming functions and operations
• Managing TAB functions
• Day-to-day operations of gaming rooms
• Assisting patrons with both food and beverage orders, inquiries and complaints
• Uphold cleanliness and hygiene standards

What you will bring to the role

Along with excellent customer service and the ability to take initiative, you will have:

• Demonstrated cash handling proficiency
• Knowledge of gaming machine regulations, compliance, operations, and procedures
• An understanding of food & beverage products and services
• A professional and mature "can do" attitude with the ability to work autonomously
• Current Tasmanian Responsible Service of Gaming Certificate (RCG) and Responsible Service of Alcohol
• Certificate (RSA)
• Keno Writer & Gaming Machine Attendant or Senior Keno Writer and Gaming Machine Supervisor
• Certificates and TAB would be advantageous

Please note that to be successful in this role, you need to be able to work a variety of night and weekend shifts, which may include public holidays.

A successful candidate in this role may be subject to pre-employment and ongoing screening checks.
