Job summary

Vantage Hotel Group in Tasmania seeks experienced bar and gaming team members for Hotel Valern and Elwick Hotel. You will handle gaming patron enquiries and beverage service, while supporting smooth gaming room operations and TAB activities.

Applicants should have Tasmanian RCG and RSA certificates, plus knowledge of gaming regulations and food & beverage products. Night and weekend shifts are required; pre-employment checks may apply.

About our Southern Vantage Hotels and pubs!

Pour yourself into something great with Vantage Hotel Group, home to community-loved pubs across Tasmania. We are currently looking for experienced bar and gaming team members to join us at Hotel Valern and Elwick Hotel.
Joining Vantage Hotel Group also gives you the opportunity to work across our other southern pubs, including Waterfront Hotel, Claremont Hotel, The Brooker Inn and Derwent Tavern.

What you can expect in a day in this role:

In this role, you will be responsible for attending to enquiries from our gaming patrons, preparing and dispensing beverages, and providing exceptional customer service.

Some of your day-to-day duties will include:

• Managing and maintaining gaming functions and operations
• Managing TAB functions
• Day-to-day operations of gaming rooms
• Assisting patrons with both food and beverage orders, inquiries and complaints
• Uphold cleanliness and hygiene standards

What you will bring to the role

Along with excellent customer service and the ability to take initiative, you will have:

• Demonstrated cash handling proficiency
• Knowledge of gaming machine regulations, compliance, operations, and procedures
• An understanding of food & beverage products and services
• A professional and mature “can do” attitude with the ability to work autonomously
• Current Tasmanian Responsible Service of Gaming Certificate (RCG) and Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate (RSA)
• Keno Writer & Gaming Machine Attendant or Senior Keno Writer and Gaming Machine Supervisor Certificates and TAB would be advantageous

Please note that to be successful in this role, you need to be able to work a variety of night and weekend shifts, which may include public holidays.
