Job summary

Accor Hotels, Novotel Sydney International Airport, seeks a Banquet Duty Manager to oversee event delivery and guest experiences across conferences, meetings and galas. You will lead banquet operations, ensure flawless setup and service, and drive teamwork and engagement in a fast-paced environment.

You will manage costs and inventory, support budgets, and mentor Heartists to maintain exceptional standards. The role requires strong leadership and flexible availability for events.

• Lead, train and develop banquet Heartists for peak performance.
• Liaise with guests to ensure smooth operations and satisfaction.

The Role

An opportunity exists for an experienced Banquet Duty Manager to join Novotel Sydney International Airport. You will have the opportunity to create an unforgettable guest experience. From intimate executive meetings to large-scale conferences and gala dinners, we are hiring for a passionate hospitality leader to oversee the seamless delivery of events.

What You Will Be Doing

• Coordinate event execution with the Food & Beverage Manager, Conference & Events team and Sales & Marketing team to deliver conferences and events




• Oversee event set-up, service delivery and pack down, ensuring every detail is executed to the highest standard

• Manage profit and loss by maintaining inventory, managing labour cost




• Assist the Food & Beverage Manager to meet operational and financial budgets




• Lead, train and develop banquet operations Heartists




• Support reward and recognition within the department to maintain employee engagement and motivation




• Manage all activities and events for the department, before and after each event




• Liaise with guests during the event to ensure operational details and logistics are met




• Maintain accurate service and positive guest relations and ensure product offerings meet company quality standards




• Monitor inventory and maintain departmental equipment and presentation standards.




• Ensure the Work Health & Safety Act and company safety policies are endorsed

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in food and beverage, conferencing, or high-volume hospitality




• Confident communicator with strong team leadership skills




• Pride in presentation and professionalism




• Passionate about great service, quality products, and genuine hospitality




• Proven ability to train, mentor, and develop team members to lift performance and capability




• Calm, organised, and solutions-focused
