Job summary

Dentons Australia is seeking a Solicitor to join the Banking & Insolvency Litigation team in Sydney. With 1–2 years’ post-admission experience, you will work on litigation and commercial matters for major banks and financial institutions, gaining exposure to enforcement, insolvency and related disputes.

You will collaborate with partners, senior associates and paralegals, develop strong drafting and client-management skills, and contribute to pro bono and inclusive initiatives while building a

Qualifications

• 1–2 years’ post-admission experience in litigation and general commercial work, ideally with exposure to banking litigation, recoveries, enforcement, insolvency or restructuring.
• Excellent academic results.
• Strong drafting and communication skills.
• Enthusiasm for working in a dynamic team.
• Proactive and collaborative approach.
• Genuine interest in developing a career supporting major banks and other financial services providers.

Responsibilities

• act for major Australian banks in secured enforcement and recovery matters;
• act for non-financial institutions, including Indigenous Business Australia, in secured and unsecured recoveries;
• advise insolvency practitioners on administrations, liquidations, receiverships and bankruptcy;
• assist with litigious and non-litigious matters involving mortgage enforcement and Personal Property Securities Act securities;
• represent clients in court proceedings;
• support not-for-profit and charity clients with general advisory and litigation matters; and
• participate in the firm’s pro bono, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
