AFL Recruitment Pty Ltd in Melbourne is seeking a Senior Banking/Finance Lawyer (3yrs-Senior Associate) to join an internationally acclaimed team advising blue-chip institutions and sponsors on complex cross-border transactions.

You will work on leveraged and structured finance, MBOs, cross-border financings, and ensure compliance with banking laws, AML, privacy and PPSA, while benefiting from world-class mentorship, extensive training, and a flexible, collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• 3-10+ years PAE experience in banking/finance law, associate to senior associate.
• Strong research and technical legal skills with practical advisory ability.
• Outstanding people leadership and client management capabilities.
• Ambitious to be the best lawyer and a holistic professional.

Responsibilities

• Advise on sophisticated banking/finance transactions including multi-level/international deals.
• Cover corporate/leveraged/structured/trade/project finance, MBOs, cross-border financing and restructurings.
• Ensure compliance with Banking Act, Prudential Standards, AML, privacy, credit reporting and PPSA.

YOUR ROLE

As a KEY part of this internationally acclaimed banking/finance team (being led and mentored by some of Australia’s top banking/finance partners), representing blue-chip clients (world leading financial institutions,corporate borrowers, lenders, syndicates, sponsors), you will love advising on:

1) intellectually stimulating sophisticated banking/finance transactions including multi-level/jurisdictional/international transactions including:

• Corporate/leveraged/structured/trade/project, construction/ECA finance
• management buy-outs, leveraged buy-outs, cross-border financing, opco/propco restructurings, inter-creditor arrangements and real estate investment; PLUS

2) compliance with the Banking Act and Prudential Standards, AML legislation, privacy, credit reporting and the PPSA.

WHO YOU ARE

We are interested in hearing from you if you:

• have 3-10+ years PAE experience (associate-senior associate) in banking/finance law with a 1st/2nd-tier firm or specialist boutique firm or in-house;
• have strong research/technical legal skills+ a strong commercial acumen+ ability to provide practical relevant advice;
