Job summary

Tennis Australia is seeking enthusiastic Ballkid Team Leaders for the Workday Canberra International, a casual role from September 2026 to January 2027. You will support training, coordinate ballkids and volunteers, and ensure smooth rosters and briefings for a safe, inclusive tournament experience.

Successful candidates will show strong leadership, communication and teamwork, with the flexibility to work weekends, holidays and evenings as required. Police and WWCC checks are part of the process.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience supervising or leading teams in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong teamwork, organisation, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to remain calm, resilient and adaptable under pressure.
  • Proactive, positive and reliable approach, with commitment to high-quality outcomes.
  • Tennis, tournament or Ballkids program knowledge is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Support Ballkid Coordinators and Ballkid Manager across training, operations and event delivery.
  • Organise and deliver Ballkid Training Sessions and coordinate ballkids, staff and volunteers.
  • Support daily rosters and briefings, respond to enquiries, maintain communications channels.
  • Assist with program activities such as inductions, finals squad selection and event briefings.
