Job summary

SA Health - Central Adelaide Local Health Network seeks a Technical Officer statewide in Bacteriology to support a 24-hour diagnostic service at SA Pathology, Royal Adelaide Hospital.

You will perform routine and complex testing, apply technical judgement, verify results and collaborate with scientific, technical and medical teams to ensure timely, accurate patient information. Appointment subject to checks and immunisation screening.

Qualifications

• Hold a recognised Diploma, Advanced Diploma or equivalent.
• Bring recent experience across Bacteriology laboratory operations.
• Apply technical accuracy, prioritise workloads and solve problems.
• Communicate effectively and support training within laboratory teams.
• Appointment subject to Criminal History Check and immunisation screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex testing in Bacteriology.
• Apply technical judgement and verify results for accuracy.
• Support and train developing staff and contribute to projects.
• Provide advice on equipment, procedures and results.
