Job summary

Nine is seeking a Technical Lead to head the backend team powering 9Now and Stan. You will build resilient, high-concurrency distributed systems and APIs, mentor engineers, and drive DevOps best practices. Job Description

As Technical Lead you will lead the backend team responsible for the core streaming platform and APIs that power 9Now and Stan. This is a hands on role for a technical expert passionate about building resilient, high-concurrency distributed systems while fostering the professional growth of a high-performing engineering team.

Day to day you will:

• Lead by example by writing, reviewing, and deploying high-performance Go code.
• Design and own the full lifecycle of cloud-based distributed systems and APIs.
• Drive operational excellence through CI/CD, automated testing, and staged rollouts.
• Line manage and mentor engineers to support their career growth and wellbeing.
• Champion AI and automation to enhance system monitoring and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to align technical roadmaps with business goals.
• Resolve complex production issues by leading root-cause analysis and resolution.

What you’ll bring:

• Prior experience leading engineering teams.
• Deep technical expertise in developing and maintaining applications using Go.
• Advanced cloud knowledge in AWS and distributed systems like microservices.
• A DevOps mindset with proficiency in infrastructure-as-code and monitoring tools.
• Strong security focus regarding application best practices and auditing.
• A forward-thinking approach to leveraging AI for backend and operational efficiency.
