Qualifications

• Experience building backend services, professional or serious open-source work.
• Comfort with databases, APIs, and concurrency across systems.

Responsibilities

• Probe backend reasoning across service design, data modeling, and API contracts to identify design flaws.
• Find failures that matter: race conditions, N+1 queries, bad indexes, and breaking changes hidden in diffs.
• Write the correct design when the model falls short, with clear trade-offs for scaling and consistency.
