Job summary

Hornby Transport Services is seeking an Interstate Tautliner driver to operate across multiple bases in Australia, including Brisbane. You will be part of a modern fleet leveraging in-cab technology to deliver freight for major customers.

The role requires a strong safety record, knowledge of load restraint, and the ability to manage fatigue on long interstate runs. You’ll join a team committed to safety, sustainability, and efficiency.

Qualifications

• You must have an immaculate safety record and at least 2 years driving heavy vehicles.
• Solid understanding of load restraint principles.
• Knowledge of Chain of Responsibility and Road Transport Legislation is preferred.
• Ability to safely manage fatigue during long interstate routes.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Experience with or willingness to learn in-cab technology.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport interstate freight using MC configurations.
• Follow safety standards and COR requirements at all times.
• Perform daily pre-start checks on vehicles and equipment.
• Comply with Hornby Transport Services policies and procedures.
• Restrain loads using chains, ratchet straps, and straps for Flat Tops.
• Manage fatigue in line with relevant guidelines.

B-DOUBLE INTERSTATE TAUTLINER TRUCK DRIVERS

Hornby Transport Services is seeking a Taughtliner driver within the business, either based at Unanderra, Port Macquarie,Thornton or Brisbane. You will be using sophisticated technology to deliver freight to some of Australia's biggest companies. Work with a modern fleet and state of the art technology, you will be a part of Hornby Transport Services commitment to safety, sustainability, and efficiency.

What does the job look like?

The job can be consistent or vary considering on what the customer requirements are, and what commitments you can make. We are looking for flexible drivers that can work with the business and thrive in an environment that changes frequently.

In this role you will safely transport various freight interstate (dependant on requirements). Key areas:

• Participating and committing to safety standards and COR requirements at all times
• Operating MC configurations to safely deliver various freight to our customers in a safe and timely manner
• Daily pre-start checks on vehicles and equipment
• Complying with the HTS Operations, Policies and Procedures
• Restraining loads using chains, ratchet chains and straps (Flat Tops)
• Managing fatigue in line with relevant fatigue guidelines

You will have an impeccable safety record, with at least 2 years driving heavy vehicles. You can demonstrate:

Positions based out of Newcastle, Port Macquarie, Brisbane and Wollongong.

Australian citizenship is mandatory for this position

What we offer:

• Attractive km rate with a above award loading/unloading rates.
• Our drivers earn on average between $110k to $150k per annum

Further information

You will be required to meet Hornby Transport Services employment criteria which will include, but not be limited to, a driver history check and full pre employment medical which includes a drug and alcohol test.
