Job summary

Talent is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join a high-profile government tech program delivering secure, cloud-based capabilities from Canberra. You will design, implement and maintain secure Microsoft Azure environments, with a strong focus on automation, security, and IaC, while collaborating across infrastructure, development and sustainment teams.

The role offers Canberra-based work with potential for limited remote days after six months.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ DevOps experience in complex data and analytics platforms.
• Leads in Azure cloud administration and DevSecOps practices.
• Hands-on Linux administration and IaC with Terraform/Ansible/PowerShell.
• Experience securing Azure cloud environments and RBAC.
• Strong stakeholder engagement across multidisciplinary teams.
• NV1 security clearance or eligibility required.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Azure infrastructure to support app migrations.
• Develop automated deployment of cloud infrastructure and applications.
• Secure Azure platforms and manage IaC and automation.
• Use Azure DevOps to automate security and deployments.
• Support Java apps on Linux and monitor cloud health.
• Lead cloud development activities with internal and external stakeholders.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and planning.
• Create technical docs and share knowledge across the team.
