Job summary

Talent is seeking a DevOps Engineer for a Canberra-based, hybrid 12-month contract with extension options. The role focuses on secure, cloud-based capabilities within a government program, emphasizing Azure, DevSecOps, and IaC. Up to two days remote after six months may be negotiated.

You will design and automate Azure infrastructure, implement security measures, and lead cloud development across stakeholders while supporting Agile ceremonies and documentation efforts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience using DevOps within complex data and analytics platforms.
• Minimum 5 years' experience facilitating business processes to deliver new capabilities.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud Administration.
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and DevSecOps.
• Experience developing and maintaining IaC using Ansible, PowerShell, Terraform or YAML.
• Experience securing Azure cloud environments and working across multidisciplinary teams.
• Hands-on Kubernetes experience is advantageous.
• Must hold or be eligible for NV1 security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Azure infrastructure solutions for migrations from on-premises.
• Develop automated solutions for deploying cloud infrastructure and apps.
• Design, implement and maintain security of Azure platforms and services.
• Develop and maintain IaC and automation.
• Use Azure DevOps to automate security and deployment processes.
• Support Java applications operating in Linux environments.
• Automate operational processes and enable self-service capabilities.
• Manage Azure RBAC, Defender for Cloud, and Azure Policy.
• Monitor cloud service health and performance with cloud-native tools.
• Collaborate with architects, admins and developers to meet security/compliance.
