Tata Consultancy Services in Sydney is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design, implement, and maintain data pipelines migrating data from Salesforce, Oracle, and SQL Server to Azure Databricks. Qualifications

• 7+ years of data engineering experience, including Azure-based migrations.
• Hands-on experience with Salesforce, Oracle, and SQL Server migrations to Azure Databricks.
• Proficiency in Python, Spark, SQL, and Databricks notebooks.
• Strong ETL, data modeling, and data governance knowledge.
• Experience with Azure Data Lake, Synapse, and cloud architectures.

Job Description

Location : Sydney

• Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines for migrating data from Salesforce, Oracle, and SQL Server-based applications to Azure Databricks.
• Collaborate with data architects and business stakeholders to understand data migration requirements and build scalable, efficient data engineering solutions.
• Perform end-to-end data integration tasks, including data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) using Azure Databricks and associated Azure services.
• Develop and optimize data workflows, ensuring high performance, reliability, and data integrity across cloud environments.
• Work with the Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, and other Azure services to ensure seamless integration of data from various sources into Databricks.
• Apply best practices for data governance, security, and compliance within the migration process.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data pipelines, migrations, and system integrations.
• Automate data processes and ensure data quality checks are in place to validate migrated data.
• Provide ongoing support and improvements to existing data pipelines and models, optimizing for speed, efficiency, and scalability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and other engineers, to ensure alignment on business requirements and data engineering best practices.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of pipeline designs, codebases, and migration procedures.
• Own delivery responsibility for Engineering – Commercials stream

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 3+ years of experience in implementing Azure Databricks, Ms Fabric solutions.
• Strong hands‑on experience with data migration from Salesforce, Oracle, and SQL Server environments.
• Proficient in data engineering languages and tools, such as Python, Spark, SQL, and Databricks notebooks.
• Strong understanding of ETL processes, data modeling, and data integration.
• Experience with cloud-based data architecture, particularly in Azure.
• Solid understanding of data governance, security, and compliance practices.
• Ability to work with large data sets, performing data cleansing, data validation, and optimization for performance.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and CI/CD pipelines for data engineering.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize data systems.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with business and technical teams.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with other data migration tools or platforms is a plus.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
