Job summary

NSW Department of Customer Service is seeking a Cyber Security Operation Engineer to uplift cloud security across Azure and SaaS platforms, and to strengthen security posture for the DAC environment.

The role focuses on implementing security controls, monitoring threats with Microsoft Defender and Sentinel, and aligning with ISO 27001 and industry best practices in a fast-paced, outcomes-driven team.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure Security Services including Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, Entra ID, Azure Policy, and PIM.
• Experience implementing cloud security controls and hardening in Azure environments.
• Experience with identity and access management concepts including MFA and Conditional Access.
• Familiarity with SaaS security tools such as Okta and Snowflake.
• Knowledge of security frameworks like CIS, ISO 27001 and Zero Trust.

Responsibilities

• Implement and remediate security recommendations from Azure security tools.
• Hardening Azure subscriptions according to CIS benchmarks.
• Configure Azure security services and enforce secure-by-default configurations.
• Monitor cloud security alerts and investigate risks or misconfigurations.
• Assist with security assessments of new cloud solutions.
