Job summary

XPT Software Australia Pty Ltd in Melbourne is seeking senior Azure-focused Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and automate cloud remediations using Terraform, DSC, and Azure DevOps. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure, scalable Azure IaaS/PaaS deployments and governance.

The role emphasizes hands-on development, testing, and documentation, with a focus on automation, monitoring, and knowledge transfer to the AustralianSuper Cloud Services team.

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years’ experience in medium to large IT environments.
• 4 years working with Azure Public Cloud services designing and building cloud solutions using IaaS and PaaS.
• Deep knowledge of Azure cloud platform, computing, storage, database, and networking.
• Experience developing and adopting DevSecOps strategies and CI/CD via Azure DevOps.
• Scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, Bash or similar.
• Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform OSS.

Responsibilities

• Authoring and deploying PowerShell DSC configurations for VM baseline enforcement.
• Onboarding target VMs to Azure Automation State Configuration and drift remediation.
• Design and build Terraform modules for Azure resources and manage state with Azure Storage backend.
• Automate remediation changes via Terraform with deployment through Azure DevOps pipelines.
• Validate remediated services for connectivity and firewall rule compliance.
• Create runbooks and knowledge materials for operational support.
