Amazon Web Services in Sydney seeks a security engineer to lead onboarding and assurance for regional cloud services. You will automate security-control validation, translate requirements into technical baselines, and support audits across AWS environments.

The role involves working with service teams to implement secure baselines, respond to events, and participate in on-call rotations to maintain operational readiness.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of industry-based security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques.
• Experience in scripting, programming, and security code reviewing in a common programming language.
• Experience in troubleshooting systems issues, analyzing logs, or automating tasks using command line tools.
• Knowledge of security vulnerabilities and remediation, including penetration testing.
• 3+ years of IT Security experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead security onboarding for region-specific cloud services and design scalable onboarding mechanisms.
• Engineer and automate security-control validation for cloud services and data pathways.
• Translate security requirements into technical baselines and acceptance criteria per ISM/ PSPF/ DSPF.
• Develop reusable security tooling and automated evidence collection for onboarding and audits.
• Investigate security events, determine root causes, and participate in on-call rotation.
