Job summary

Enterprise Group Consulting partners with a leading Australian bank to design and deliver a large-scale Enterprise Data Platform. The role focuses on building secure, scalable cloud-native services on AWS, with emphasis on governance, automation and IAM-based access controls.

You will work in a modern engineering environment within a hybrid Sydney CBD setup, collaborating with cross-functional teams to evolve data platform capabilities and optimise costs through automation.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience designing, building, and supporting cloud-native platforms on AWS.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services and data platform components.
• Experience implementing secure data access, governance, and cloud security controls.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and support AWS-based cloud and data platform services.
• Develop secure and scalable data access solutions across enterprise data environments.
• Drive cloud platform modernisation and automation initiatives.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.

Are you an experienced Cloud Platform Engineer with a passion for building secure, scalable, and automated data platforms on AWS?

EGC are partnering with a leading Australian bank undergoing significant investment in its enterprise data and cloud capabilities. This is an opportunity to join a high-performing engineering team responsible for evolving a large-scale Enterprise Data Platform that supports critical business and data initiatives across the organisation.

Working within a modern engineering environment, you will play a key role in designing and enhancing cloud-native platform services, improving operational efficiency, and enabling secure access to data through best-practice governance, automation, and infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build and support AWS-based cloud and data platform services.
• Develop secure and scalable data access solutions across enterprise data environments.
• Drive cloud platform modernisation and automation initiatives.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Enhance data governance, security, authentication and authorisation controls.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and stakeholders to improve platform capabilities.
• Evaluate new technologies through proof-of-concepts, performance testing and cost optimisation activities.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native operational practices.

Required Experience

• 8+ years' experience designing, building and supporting cloud-native platforms on AWS.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• AWS Lake Formation
• AWS IAM
• AWS Identity Centre
• Amazon S3
• Amazon Redshift
• Amazon Athena
• Proven experience implementing secure data access and governance frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of cloud security, authentication and authorisation models.
• Expertise with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices.

Experience working with modern data platform architectures, including:

• Data Lakes
• Analytics Platforms
• Metadata Management
• Data Governance
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud automation tooling.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and stakeholder management skills.
• Banking or financial services experience.
• Exposure to cloud cost optimisation and platform engineering practices.
• Understanding of data governance and regulatory requirements within highly regulated environments.
