Job summary

AECOM in Melbourne seeks a senior leader with extensive aviation and pavement expertise to guide our Aviation & Pavements team across ANZ. You will lead engineers on major road and aviation projects, drive technical excellence, and collaborate with clients to expand opportunities.

The role emphasizes strategic leadership, cross-disciplinary delivery, and participation in the global Aviation community. Hybrid options are available to support work–life balance.

Qualifications

• 15+ years’ experience in airside infrastructure engineering design, aviation pavement design, pavement condition assessment and evaluation.
• Experience in interpreting, organising, executing and coordinating the development, capture and delivery of major aviation and transport infrastructure projects.
• Experience in project delivery and leadership as Project Director and/or Project Manager, Design Management and construction phase services monitoring across disciplines.
• Demonstrated client relationship management, with strong communication skills and an ability to positively influence those around you.
• Comprehensive knowledge of standards and guidelines from CASA, FAA, IATA and ICAO.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and inspire our team in a range of aviation and pavement projects in Melbourne and across ANZ.
• Drive technical excellence across our ANZ Aviation portfolio.
• Develop business growth opportunities with AECOM’s Clients and construction partners, working together with the Aviation Growth Director and other client partners.
• Participate in the development and execution of our ANZ Aviation business strategy.
• Participate in AECOM’s Global Aviation Technical Academy and the Aviation Tech Ex group.
• Active involvement in the Aviation Technical Practice Group, comprised of a network of 850+ peers around the globe.
