Job summary

Freightquip Pty Ltd is seeking an Apprentice Technician to join our Western Sydney Airport workshop. You will assist with servicing, maintenance and repairs of aviation ground support equipment, learn hands-on with experienced technicians, and progress toward Service Technician roles on a 4 on/4 off roster.

The role is ideal for someone with practical mechanical experience who wants to develop specialised aviation equipment skills in a busy workshop environment.

Qualifications

• At least one year of professional mechanical or workshop experience.
• Experience using hand and power tools.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in the quality of work.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Positive attitude and good communication skills.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist technicians with scheduled servicing, maintenance and repairs.
• Perform basic mechanical servicing and preventative maintenance tasks.
• Support fault-finding, component replacement and equipment repairs.
• Prepare equipment for inspection, delivery and customer handover.
• Conduct basic equipment inspections and complete service documentation.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment.
• Keep equipment, tools and workshop areas clean and well maintained.
• Support workshop and field-service activities when required.
• Follow all workplace health, safety and airport security requirements.
