Freightquip Pty Ltd, a leading Australian supplier of Aviation Ground Support Equipment (GSE), seeks a Sydney-based Electrical Technician – Aviation GSE. You will service, repair and upgrade a range of equipment, including aircraft tugs, belt loaders and ground power units, on a 4-on 4-off roster with 6am–6pm shifts.

Ideal candidates are Auto Electrical, Mobile Plant, Electrical, Mechanical or Diesel Mechanic tradespeople with fault-finding skills and a willingness to travel to support customers

Qualifications

• Auto Electrical, Mobile Plant, Electrical, Mechanical or Diesel Mechanic trade qualification.
• Experience working on heavy vehicles, mobile plant, forklifts, agricultural, mining, construction or industrial equipment.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage your workload.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical faults
• Complete scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
• Attend breakdowns and minimise customer downtime
• Install, commission and test new equipment
• Complete OEM upgrades, service bulletins and warranty repairs
• Maintain accurate service records using electronic reporting systems
• Provide professional technical support and outstanding customer service
• Work safely while complying with company and airport safety requirements
• Travel occasionally to support customers across Australia when required

We proudly represent world-leading manufacturers, providing equipment sales, servicing, repairs and technical support to some of Australia's largest airports and aviation operators.

We're looking for an experienced Sydney based Service Technician to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Auto Electrician or Electricianlooking for a varied, hands-on role working with specialised equipment in the aviation industry.

We also have a number of other positions avaliable across Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Auckland.

Roster

• This role operates on a 4-on 4-off roster 365 days a year.
• Shifts are 6am - 6pm.
• You will be on call approximatley 3 days a fortnight.

What you'll be working on

You'll service, maintain and repair a diverse range of aviation ground support equipment including:

• Aircraft tugs
• Belt loaders
• Baggage tractors
• Cargo loaders
• Passenger stairs
• Ground power units
• Specialised airport support equipment

No two days are the same, with a combination of preventative maintenance, diagnostics, breakdown response, commissioning and equipment upgrades.

Key responsibilities

About you

You'll be someone who enjoys getting stuck into technical work and takes pride in delivering quality repairs.

Ideally you'll have:

• Auto Electrical, Mobile Plant, Electrical, Mechanical or Diesel Mechanic trade qualification
• Experience working on heavy vehicles, mobile plant, forklifts, agricultural, mining, construction or industrial equipment
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Ability to work independently and manage your workload
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Current Australian Driver's Licence

Highly regarded, but not essential:

• Experience with PLCs, CANBus or electric drive systems
• Hydraulic fault-finding experience
• Aviation Ground Support Equipment experience
• Airside operating experience

Requirements

• Current Australian Driver's Licence
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
• Ability to pass pre-employment and ongoing drug and alcohol testing where required
• Willingness to travel occasionally for planned service work
