Job summary

AECOM in Melbourne seeks a senior Airport Infrastructure engineer to contribute to the design and delivery of aviation projects, including runways, taxiways, aprons, and AGL systems. Qualifications

• The role requires advanced Autodesk Civil 3D capability and experience on multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of BIM processes and digital delivery standards.
• Proficiency with ProjectWise, BIM 360/ACC, Navisworks Manage; familiar with Dynamo and Python.
• Experience in design, planning and construction support for civil/airport projects is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of Civil Aviation standards (CASA/ICAO etc) is advantageous.

• Perform model validation and clash detection in line with QA processes.

Job Description

How you’ll make a difference

Contribute to the design and delivery of airport engineering projects, including runways, taxiways, aprons, service roads, aeronautical ground lighting (AGL), signage, navigational aids, drainage upgrades, utility relocations, and pavement rehabilitation across civil and defence aviation projects.

Develop high-quality 3D models, 2D drawings, and data-rich digital deliverables, leveraging automation and scripting to improve efficiency and consistency.

Manage digital models and project documentation within ProjectWise and Autodesk Construction Cloud, supporting BIM workflows in accordance with ISO 19650 standards and project BIM Execution Plans (BEPs).

Take ownership of assigned deliverables, ensuring work is completed in line with project programmes, budgets, and quality expectations.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Australia and New Zealand, including airport planners, architects, engineers, and digital delivery specialists, while participating in client and stakeholder discussions.

Perform model validation, coordination, and clash detection activities, maintaining compliance with AECOM's quality management processes and procedures.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of AECOM's digital delivery standards, templates, libraries, and best practices.

Qualifications

The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don’t tick all the boxes you could still be a perfect fit for this role.

• Advanced Autodesk Civil 3D capability (corridors, surfaces, pipe networks, grading, data shortcuts)and experience working on multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of BIM processes
• Proficiency with ProjectWise, BIM 360 / ACC, and Navisworks Manage
• Experience using Dynamo, Python, or Civil 3D automation tools
• Experience in design, planning and construction support of civil engineering projects, experience within the airport environment is highly desirable but not essential
• Knowledge of Civil Aviation standards and recommended practices (CASA, ICAO, EASA, CAA, FAA, MAA)
