Job summary

Hexagon invites applications for an Autonomous Specialist to support the deployment, operation and continuous improvement of autonomous haulage technology in a large-scale mining environment. The role rotates across multiple technical disciplines within the Autonomous Technology Engineering team on a fixed-term 2-year assignment, with fly-in fly-out from Perth, Western Australia.

Reporting to the Autonomous Technology Engineering Supervisor, you will gain hands-on experience across development

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM disciplines such as Mechatronics, Electrical, Technology or Engineering.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret technical data.
  • Understanding of test, validation and verification stages of technology development.

Responsibilities

  • Support deployment, operation and continuous improvement of autonomous haulage technology.
  • Assist with data analysis to improve system performance and reliability.
  • Support commissioning and optimization of server and network infrastructure for autonomous operations.
  • Implement and maintain security measures to protect systems from threats.
  • Operate and monitor autonomous road trains across haulage stages.
  • Assist with route optimization to improve efficiency and reduce fuel consumption.
  • Provide real-time monitoring, tracking, reporting and operational support.
