Job summary

CPB Contractors Pty is seeking an autonomous Finance Manager to be based in Toowoomba on a 5:2 DIDO roster, guiding the project’s financial integrity and reporting. You will manage budgeting, forecasting, month-end processes and strategic financial advice for senior leadership.

The role leads the project finance team, ensures compliance with legislation and contract terms, and coordinates payments to creditors and subcontractors across the program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance and/or Business (preferred) and CPA accreditation.
• Experience in a similar role including construction industry experience.
• Ability to interpret legislation, rules and regulations to ensure compliance with all state, federal and local and contractual guidelines.
• Awareness of policy and application of Corporate Limits of Liabilities and contractual and financial systems, processes and procedures.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and application.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control all project accounting systems and processes.
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial and management reports.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of budgets and forecasts for programs and projects.
• Manage month end accruals and auditing requirements for CIMIC and external parties.
• Oversee payments to creditors and subcontractors in line with terms.
• Coordinate monthly project claims, invoicing and supporting documentation.
• Manage project cashflow, balance sheet, audit and tax reporting.
• Ensure effective accounting and cost controls.
• Oversee accounts processing and appropriate authorisation levels.
• Lead the project finance team and develop capability.
• Provide strategic financial advice to senior leadership.
