Job summary

Guardian Childcare & Education seeks an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee maintenance, compliance, contractor management and operational performance of multiple sites in Victoria. This hands-on role focuses on safe, well-maintained environments while driving continuous improvement across the portfolio.

You will conduct site inspections, manage contractors, oversee capital works, support compliance initiatives, review performance, and coordinate activities with internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience in Facilities Management or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of building maintenance, compliance and contractor management.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities across a large portfolio.
• Excellent problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Commercial mindset with experience managing budgets and project costs.
• Proficient with systems and reporting tools for tracking maintenance and project activity.
• Current driver’s license and willingness to travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site inspections to identify maintenance, presentation, compliance and safety issues.
• Manage contractors and service providers, ensuring quality workmanship and service delivery.
• Oversee maintenance, capital works, and minor works projects from scope through to completion.
• Support compliance initiatives and help resolve operational and facilities-related risks.
• Review contractor performance, reports, and project outcomes.
• Coordinate facilities activities with internal stakeholders.
• Provide reporting, recommendations, and solutions to improve facilities operations.
• Participate in an on-call roster to support urgent after-hours maintenance matters.
