Job description

At Airport Toyota, we take pride in the quality of our work, the standards we maintain and the vehicles we put back on the road.

We're looking for an experienced and capable Roadworthy Technician to join our busy Service operation, someone who knows what to look for, takes pride in their workmanship and understands the importance of getting things right the first time.

If you're confident in your technical ability, have a sharp eye for detail and enjoy working in a professional, well equipped workshop, this is your opportunity to join a high performing team where your skills and experience are genuinely valued.

A Day in the Life

You’ll be working within our Service operation, carrying out roadworthy inspections and ensuring vehicles meet the required safety and compliance standards.

From inspecting vehicles and identifying defects to completing re‑inspections and issuing Roadworthy Certificates, you’ll play an important role in making sure vehicles are safe, compliant and ready for the road.

You’ll work closely with our Service Advisors and Workshop team, clearly communicating inspection findings, identifying required repairs and helping keep vehicles moving efficiently through the workshop.

Some vehicles will be straightforward. Others will require a closer look, a little more investigation and sound technical judgement.

And with a busy workshop and a strong focus on quality, your ability to work efficiently without compromising safety or standards will make all the difference.

What You'll Bring

We’re looking for an experienced, hands‑on Technician who knows their way around a vehicle, has a sharp eye for detail and takes genuine pride in getting the job done right.

You’ll be confident in your technical ability, comfortable working independently and understand the importance of maintaining high standards when it comes to vehicle safety and compliance.

To be successful, you’ll bring:

Previous experience carrying out vehicle inspections, servicing, diagnostics and mechanical repairs.

Strong technical knowledge and the ability to confidently identify mechanical faults, defects and safety concerns.

A sound understanding of Victorian roadworthy requirements and vehicle safety standards.

A methodical approach to inspections, with excellent attention to detail and pride in your workmanship.

The ability to manage your workload efficiently without compromising quality or safety.

A current and valid driver’s licence.

Current Victorian Licensed Vehicle Tester (LVT) accreditation will be highly regarded, however, experienced Technicians willing and able to obtain accreditation are also encouraged to apply.

Most importantly, you’re someone who takes ownership of their work, doesn’t cut corners and understands that getting the details right makes all the difference.

What's in it for You

This is your opportunity to put your experience to work with one of Australia’s most recognised and trusted automotive brands.

You’ll receive a competitive hourly rate, along with the opportunity to be part of a busy, established Service operation where your technical expertise is valued, your workmanship is recognised and you’re supported by a team that knows the industry.

You’ll also benefit from ongoing Toyota manufacturer training, opportunities to expand your technical capabilities and the support of an experienced leadership team that understands what it takes to run a successful workshop.

And with the backing of one of Australia’s largest automotive groups, you’ll have the stability of an established dealership, the strength of a leading automotive brand and genuine opportunities to take your career further.

On top of that, you’ll benefit from paid parental leave, long service and loyalty incentives, novated vehicle leasing options, lifestyle discounts across dining, travel and fitness, and free professional counselling through our Employee Assistance Program.

Please note: Airport Toyota is an Equal Opportunity Employer that embraces and values equality, cultural diversity and inclusion. All shortlisted applicants will be required to undertake pre‑employment checks, including police and medical checks.
