Job summary

TCR Group in Melbourne's workshop is seeking an Automotive Mechanic to service and repair ground support equipment with LV/HV/Plant capabilities. You will perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and diagnostics as part of a skilled workshop team to ensure safe, efficient operations for aviation equipment.

Choose between Permanent Day Shift (6:00am–6:00pm) or Permanent Night Shift (6:00pm–6:00am; night shift allowance).

Qualifications

• Relevant Mechanic Trade Qualification.
• Own tools are required.
• Exposure to diesel engines, hydraulic systems and electrical fault finding is highly regarded.
• Hold a current and valid Driver's License.
• Focus on safety standards and company procedures.
• Experience working within procedural guidelines.
• Good communication skills and proactiveness.
• Positive attitude and ability to work autonomously and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct repairs and preventive maintenance of ground support equipment.
• Report daily to the Shift Supervisor and liaise with the State Service Manager.
• Perform preventive servicing, data collection, and repair tasks to trade standards.
• Promote a safety-first approach.
• Collaborate with fabricators, technicians, and assistants on solutions.
• Utilise the equipment variety and aviation knowledge to enhance outcomes.

TCR has a brand-new, exciting opportunity available in our Melbourne Workshop: Automotive Mechanic (LV/HV/Plant)!

The Opportunity

As an Automotive Mechanic, you'll use your technical expertise to carry out repairs, preventive maintenance and diagnostics on a wide range of specialised GSE equipment. You'll work closely with a skilled workshop team to ensure safe, efficient and reliable operations that keep the airport moving.

Roster Options

This role operates on a 4 days on / 4 days off roster consisting of 11.15 hour shifts. Successful candidates can choose between:

• Permanent Day Shift: 6:00am - 6:00pm

• Permanent Night Shift: 6:00pm - 6:00am (includes a night shift allowance)

This is a rotating 4-on / 4-off roster, with employees permanently assigned to either day shift or night shift.

A snapshot of what you will be doing here:

• Utilise your technical skills and experience as a tradesman to conduct repairs and preventive maintenance of ground support equipment.

• Report daily to the Shift Supervisor however will ultimately be under the management of the State Service Manager.

• Conduct preventive servicing, data collecting as well as repair, and maintenance tasks that reflect a trade standard.

• Promote a safety-first approach.

• Collaborate with fabricators, technicians, and assistants to develop and implement effective solutions.

• Utilise the wide variety of equipment and the unique nature of aviation equipment as an opportunity for you to bring a wide collection of knowledge & skills to the role.

Who we're looking for:
