Job summary

Transport Canberra is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Automotive Body Repair Technician to join our dedicated Fleet Services team. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your trade skills across a diverse fleet of vehicles while contributing to the delivery of essential public services for the ACT community.

Working under general supervision, either independently or as part of a collaborative team, you will undertake automotive body repair and maintenance activities on the full range of fleet vehicles owned and operated by Transport Canberra. You will play a key role in ensuring vehicles are repaired safely, efficiently, and to a high standard, helping maximise vehicle availability and operational performance.

What You'll Be Doing

• Undertaking automotive body repairs and maintenance activities across the Transport Canberra fleet.
• Performing quality repairs while maintaining a strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Prioritising work activities to ensure peak vehicle availability is achieved without compromising quality standards.
• Liaising effectively with other work groups, trades, and stakeholders to ensure tasks are completed within designated timeframes.
• Assisting with special projects, including vehicle modification and upgrade programs.
• Supporting the training, development, and mentoring of apprentices and other staff members.
• Working collaboratively within a team environment to deliver high-quality outcomes for Fleet Services.

• Drivers Licence (C-class) is mandatory, with the ability to obtain HR licence.
• Relevant recognised trade qualifications and or certificates are mandatory.
• The ability to work rostered shifts, from early morning to late at night including regular weekend rostered overtime.
• A pre-employment criminal history check will be conducted.
• This position requires a pre-employment medical.
