Job summary

Hydrogen Group is seeking an Automation Test Engineer for its Melbourne office on a 6-month contract. You will lead automation efforts, design and maintain frameworks, and drive test automation strategies across web, mobile, and API applications.

The role requires hands-on expertise with automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright) and strong knowledge of CI/CD and SDLC. 2–5 years in QA automation and a degree in a related field are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2-5 years of experience in software quality assurance, with a focus on automation.
• Proficiency in programming/scripting languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript, C#).
• Experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, TestNG, JUnit, or similar.
• Familiarity with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, REST Assured).
• Understanding of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
• Solid understanding of software testing principles, QA methodologies, and SDLC processes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

You will be tasked with leading the automation efforts in terms of plans around framework & tool selection, collaboration & execution.
