Job summary

CareCone Group is seeking an experienced Automation Test Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated test solutions for web and mobile apps using Playwright and Appium. You will implement UI automation, API testing, and contribute to test framework development.

You will integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines, create reusable components, and work with developers to resolve defects while improving automation coverage across releases.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on automation testing experience.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Automation Test Engineer with strong hands‑on expertise in Playwright and Appium to design, develop, and maintain automated test solutions for web and mobile applications. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in UI automation, mobile automation, API testing, test framework development, and CI/CD integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test scripts using Playwright for web applications.
• Develop and execute mobile automation tests using Appium for Android and/or iOS applications.
• Create reusable test components, utilities, page objects, and automation libraries.
• Execute functional, regression, integration, smoke, and end‑to‑end automation testing.
• Identify test scenarios suitable for automation and improve overall automation coverage.
• Perform API testing and integrate API validation into automation suites.
• Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
• Analyse automation failures, identify defects, and work closely with developers to resolve issues.
• Maintain test scripts and frameworks across application releases and environments.
• Participate in test planning, estimation, test case reviews, and defect triage.
• Generate and maintain automation test reports and provide testing status to stakeholders.
• Follow best practices for test automation, coding standards, version control, and framework design.

Mandatory Skills

• Strong hands‑on experience in Playwright automation.
• Strong hands‑on experience in Appium mobile automation.
• Experience automating web and mobile applications.
• Experience with Page Object Model (POM) and reusable automation frameworks.
• Good knowledge of API testing and tools such as REST Assured, Postman, or equivalent.
• Experience with Git/GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket.
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD integration.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, defect lifecycle, and Agile methodologies.
• Good troubleshooting and debugging skills.

Good to Have

• Experience with Android and iOS automation.
• Experience with Selenium/Cypress.
• Knowledge of Docker and containerised test execution.
• Experience with performance or security testing.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
• Familiarity with Jira and test management tools.
