Job summary

IT Alliance in Canberra is seeking a Functional Automation Tester for a long-term contract with a Federal Government client. The role is 12 months initially with potential extension, based in Canberra with a hybrid arrangement (3 days in office, 2 days at home per week).

Responsibilities include testing Dynamics 365/Power Platform components, building automated regression suites, and API/integration testing within Azure DevOps. Baseline security clearance or higher is required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on testing of Dynamics 365, Power Platform components and related tools.
• Strong functional and manual testing skills across the SDLC.
• Experience building automated regression suites for UI and API testing.
• CI/CD testing within Azure DevOps pipelines and modern testing practices.
• Ability to work across multiple concurrent projects with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform Dynamics 365 / Power Platform testing including Power Pages, Power Apps and Dataverse.
• Develop and maintain automated regression suites for UI and API testing.
• Execute and validate REST API and backend integrations.
• Integrate automated tests into Azure DevOps pipelines during build/release.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary Agile delivery teams.

Job description

One of our Federal Government Clients is seeking to engage a Functional Automation Tester. This is a long-term contractual position.

Contract Duration: 12 months initially + 24 months extension)

Work Location: Canberra (03 Days office/02 Days home per week)

Eligibility: You must need to have Baseline Security Clearance or above.

Essential Criteria

• Dynamics 365 / Power Platform testing – hands-on testing of Dynamics 365, Power Pages, Power Apps and/or Dataverse.
• Strong Functional & Manual Testing – requirements analysis, test scenarios/cases, execution, defect management and end-to-end business process validation.
• UI Automation Testing – critical – experience building and maintaining automated regression suites using Playwright, Selenium, EasyRepro or similar.
• API / Integration Automation Testing – critical – automated testing of REST APIs, backend services, integrations and authentication flows using Postman/Newman, REST Assured, Playwright API testing or similar.
• CI/CD Test Automation – critical – automated test suites integrated into Azure DevOps pipelines and executed automatically during build/release.
• Experience across UI, functional, integration, system, regression and UAT testing.
• Azure DevOps – pipelines, test/defect management, reporting and delivery workflows.
• VS Code and source control experience.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile and modern testing methodologies.
• Ability to work across multiple concurrent projects, changing technologies and priorities.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision and become productive quickly.
• Strong communication and collaboration within multidisciplinary Agile delivery teams.
• Experience testing web-based/enterprise applications and digital portals – particularly relevant.
