Job summary
Virtue Recruitment is seeking a Service Engineer for our Melbourne-based technical team to provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support, deliver remote assistance, and onsite service as the main local contact for our global Technical Support group.
You will respond to customer inquiries, troubleshoot, and help dimension automation products across industrial sectors. This role emphasizes strong communication, problem-solving, and hands-on electrical/automation expertise.
Qualifications
- 3-4 years' experience in a similar role.
- Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic or related qualification a must (Diploma could be considered based on associated work experience)
- PLC programming using platforms such as Siemens, Omron, Allen-Bradley
- Control systems, sensors and remote I/O.
- Motor controllers and servo motors, pneumatic actuators and control valves, process valves and compressed-air systems.
- Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable providing remote and onsite technical support.
- Customer service orientated and excellent communication skills
Responsibilities
- Respond to customer technical enquiries.
- Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support.
- Deliver remote assistance and onsite service.
- Troubleshoot equipment and complete root-cause analysis.
- Recommend and implement corrective actions.
- Select and dimension automation products.
- Program PLCs, modules and sample applications.
- Support control systems, software and automation tools.
- Test and simulate products and applications.
- Document and report service activities.
- Deliver technical training and product demonstrations.
- Escalate complex issues to global Technical Support.
- Identify opportunities to improve service processes.
