Job summary

Crossmuller on the NSW Central Coast is seeking an experienced Automation Business Development Manager to combine commercial acumen with automation, engineering and manufacturing know-how to drive growth across diverse industries.

This role reports to the leadership team and focuses on securing new business, managing the full sales cycle from concept to handover, and building lasting client relationships in a dynamic Australian-owned engineering business.

Qualifications

Proven success in a Business Development Manager or similar role.
Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
Understanding of automation solutions including mechanical, electrical and control systems.
Exposure to robotics and advanced automation technologies is highly regarded.
Experience interpreting or developing 2D and 3D layouts using CAD software.
Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

Developing and executing strategic business development initiatives.
Securing new clients across manufacturing and industrial sectors.
Growing opportunities with existing customers.
Building strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
Identifying operational improvement opportunities through client consultation.
Developing solution concepts and assessing technical and commercial feasibility.
Preparing scopes of work, budgets and project quotations.
Supporting marketing activities, including website and social media initiatives.
