Job summary

Magnum Ice Cream Co. in Sydney is seeking an Automation Engineer to lead design, procurement, installation and commissioning of manufacturing automation systems. You will drive safety, governance and integration of control systems, networks and digital factory infrastructure across the site.

You will apply PLC/SCADA expertise, coordinate with suppliers and cross-functional teams, and push for reliability, quality and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering or Instrumentation engineering with at least five years in manufacturing.
• Hands-on PLC and SCADA programming, and network configuration capabilities.
• Experience with field instruments, valves and machine interfaces to factory networks.
• Familiarity with Ethernet, Modbus, Profibus and ASI protocols; strong troubleshooting and process-improvement skills.
• Clear communication, cross-functional collaboration, and ability to deliver under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Lead automation projects across design, procurement, installation and commissioning.
• Ensure safety, reliability and governance of control-system architecture and networks.
• Coordinate with suppliers, contractors and cross-functional teams on site.
• Improve plant reliability, productivity and waste performance via automation initiatives.
• Support cyber security, asset management and lifecycle upgrades for automation systems.
