Job summary

Precise is looking for an Automation Engineer to join our Information Technology team. You will support the design, development and implementation of automation, integration and data solutions that improve business performance across the organisation.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career developer to build hands-on experience across system integrations, automation, APIs, databases and cloud technologies within a growing national organisation.

Qualifications

• CS/IT degree or equivalent.
• Foundational knowledge in Python, C#, .NET or similar.
• SQL and relational databases understanding.
• REST APIs, JSON and web integrations familiarity.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of software development principles and version control (Git).
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Recent graduates (up to 2 years) encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the development, testing and maintenance of integration and automation solutions.
• Develop scripts, applications and automated processes using Python, C# and SQL; work with APIs to exchange data between business systems.
• Support data ingestion and transformation processes within the enterprise data warehouse.
• Troubleshoot integration, automation and data-related issues.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and identify automation opportunities.
• Participate in testing, code reviews, deployments and technical documentation.
• Monitor system integrations and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop technical expertise and progressively take ownership of assigned projects.

Desired Skills & Experience

• Qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline
• Foundational programming knowledge in Python, C#, .NET or similar technologies
• Understanding of SQL and relational databases
• Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON and web-based integrations
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Understanding of software development principles and version control systems such as Git
