Job summary

HammondCare in Australia is seeking an Automation Developer to design, develop and support automation, AI-enabled solutions and workflow optimisations across the organisation.

You will work with Power Platform, Copilot Studio, Azure AI and integration technologies, leading end-to-end delivery from design through deployment. This is a fixed-term contract with hybrid work options across NSW locations and collaboration with ML engineers and developers.

Qualifications

• Advanced expertise in Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse) and governance.
• At least 5 years proven experience developing integrations using APIs, Microsoft Graph, Azure services and modern integration patterns.
• Strong experience implementing AI-enabled solutions including Copilots, AI Agents, and document processing.
• Deep understanding of business process optimisation and automation architecture.
• Experience leading end-to-end delivery of automation initiatives from design to deployment and improvement.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy automation and AI-enabled solutions that reduce manual effort and increase efficiency.
• Lead technical design using Power Platform, Copilot Studio, Azure AI and related technologies.
• Develop integrations between enterprise systems, applications and data platforms.
• Translate business requirements, process maps and solution designs into scalable technical solutions.
• Implement intelligent automation capabilities including AI-powered workflows and document processing.
• Establish and apply development standards and reusable components for sustainable growth.
• Lead testing, deployment and operational readiness activities for automation and AI solutions.
• Monitor and optimise production solutions to maximise reliability and business value.
• Provide technical guidance across automation, Power Platform and AI initiatives.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend opportunities to expand HammondCare's automation capability.

About The Opportunity

The Automation Developer is HammondCare's technical specialist for automation, AI and workflow solutions. The role is responsible for designing, developing, implementing and supporting automation and AI-enabled capabilities that simplify business processes, reduce manual effort and increase workforce capacity across the organisation.

Working closely with the Automation Delivery Lead, Machine Learning Engineers, Full Stack Developers, business stakeholders and technology teams, the role translates business requirements into scalable, secure and maintainable solutions using Microsoft Power Platform, Copilot Studio, Azure AI and integration technologies.

As a senior individual contributor, the Automation Developer provides technical leadership across automation and AI initiatives, owning solutions through the full lifecycle from design and development to deployment, optimisation and ongoing support.

This is a fixed term contract for 12-24 months.

The role can be based out of one of the following HammondCare locations: NSW (St Leonards, Hammondville, Parramatta, Newcastle, Tuggerah) VIC (Malvern, Yarraville) SA (Daw Park) WA (Osborne Park) offering hybrid opportunities.

Key Focus Areas

• Automation AI Solution Development: Design and deliver automation, workflow and AI-enabled solutions that improve productivity, service quality and operational efficiency
• Platform & Technical Delivery: Lead the development of enterprise automation capabilities using Microsoft Power Platform, Copilot Studio, Dataverse and Azure services
• Support integration & Optimisation: Integrate systems, data and business processes to create scalable, supportable and high-value automation outcomes
• AI & Innovation Enablement: Implement intelligent automation capabilities that support HammondCare's digital, data and AI strategy

How you’ll make an impact

• Design, develop and deploy automation, workflow and AI-enabled solutions that reduce manual effort, improve productivity and create workforce capacity

• Implement intelligent automation capabilities including AI-powered workflows, copilots, agents, document processing and decision automation solutions
• Establish and apply development standards, reusable components and technical patterns that support sustainable growth of HammondCare's automation capability.
• Lead testing, deployment, release management and operational readiness activities for automation and AI solutions
• Monitor, support and continuously optimise production solutions to maximise reliability, performance, adoption and business value
• Provide technical guidance and subject matter expertise across automation, Power Platform and AI initiatives
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend opportunities to expand HammondCare's automation and AI capability

About You

• Commitment to engage with and align to HammondCare’s Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action

• Strong experience implementing AI-enabled solutions, including Copilots, AI Agents, intelligent document processing, decision automation, generative AI and workflow orchestration
• Deep understanding of business process optimisation, workflow design and automation architecture, with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable, secure and maintainable technical solutions
• Demonstrated experience leading the end-to-end delivery of automation initiatives from solution design through development, testing, deployment, support and continuous improvement

Desirable

• Experience within healthcare, aged care or other regulated environments
• Understanding of cyber security, identity, privacy and technology governance requirements
