Job summary

Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, seeks a Manufacturing Test Engineer to join our subsea robotics program in Sydney, Australia. You will own the test software, automation and tooling that proves every Dive-XL vehicle works before it leaves the building, including Python frameworks and operator GUIs under production pressure.

You will also own the infrastructure underneath: NixOS-based station builds, MES data flow, and configuration management to keep test stations reproducible.

Qualifications

• Degree in software, computer, electrical, mechatronic or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience in hardware testing and automated test systems (LabVIEW, Test Stand, etc.).
• Proficiency in Python, Matlab, and Shell scripting for test automation.
• Familiarity with hardware communication protocols (USB, Ethernet, RS232, CAN, etc.).
• 3+ years in electro-mechanical test design in manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Own test software, automation and tooling for Dive-XL vehicle testing on the factory floor.
• Develop, execute and maintain test ecosystems to ensure reliability and design intent.
• Perform hands-on root cause analysis of electromechanical subsystems using structured problem solving.
• Design and maintain semi-automated test equipment and protocols for subsystem characterization.
• Collaborate with design and systems teams across product development cycles and train technicians.
• Produce and maintain testing logs and error code libraries for fast issue resolution.
• Generate clear test instructions for MES or other test execution systems.
